“Cleaning is a people-oriented business,” says global Kärcher CEO

Hartmut Jenner, global CEO of cleaning giant Kärcher arrived in Melbourne on 8 May to open the new Melbourne head office, located in Mount Waverley.

In his opening speech, Jenner attributed Kärcher’s success to robust employee inductions and training, as well as the company’s provision of consistent after-care services for newly on-boarded clients.

Sales and marketing director Lucas Paris emphasised the importance of connected cleaning services as well as the advancement of robotics in industrial cleaning machinery.

“Globally, we reinvest about seven percent of our annual turnover back into research and development,” says Paris.

Paris identified the commercial and retail sectors as Kärcher’s key growth areas in Australia, particularly to assist facility managers when dealing with subcontractors and usage time.

“We’re putting an emphasis on the cleaning-on-demand perspective into contract holder’s hands who want to have full visibility on their sites,” says Paris.

He advises facility managers to invest in time-saving solutions to avoid constant re-cleaning.

“Any customer that buys one of our machines in Australia will have a service component fairly close by,” says Paris.

The new Melbourne headquarters also includes a showroom, retail store, training facilities, service repair centre and studio.
